We therefore take a holistic view of sewer networks: from condition assessment and evaluation to prioritization, selection of suitable rehabilitation methods, and structural implementation. Not every damage requires complete renewal. Depending on condition, location, material, hydraulic load, and service life, different rehabilitation methods are considered - from spot repairs to slip lining and robotic methods to open renewal. We examine the most technically and economically sensible solution and develop rehabilitation concepts that strategically deploy investments. This allows damage to be sustainably repaired, operational safety to be increased, and follow-up costs to be reduced.

Retention areas function as deliberately floodable areas to regulate water levels during flood events. These areas only need to be appropriately planned and designed. The planning and implementation of such measures is an interdisciplinary task that, in our view, requires early coordination between all involved stakeholders.
