Optimisation of De-icing Agent Storage/Filling at Stuttgart Airport
For the storage of liquid de-icing agent, four new tanks (100 m³ each), including the necessary plant and electrical engineering for filling the tanks and de-icing vehicles, were built. A reinforced concrete base plate of approximately 200 m² was constructed as a foundation for the four new tanks. The fluid is stored in the tanks and conveyed to two extraction points via a new pipe bridge (approximately 70 m long). In a hall, a pipe chain conveyor including BigBag unloading station and foundation was additionally installed to fill the de-icing vehicles with de-icing granulate, which is stored in BigBags.
