Start of construction for the laying of the Nato pipeline
Here we go: After 10 months of planning, construction work for the laying of the Nato pipeline in the Elchesheim - Illingen area is starting.
The Nato long-distance product pipeline, which runs from Bellheim to Kehl and in the area of the Elchesheim - Illingen district twice drags the existing Rhine flood dam, has to be re-laid due to the rehabilitation of the Rhine flood dam XXV.
The State Building Authority Karlsruhe has commissioned the engineering office Fritz Spieth Beratende Ingenieure GmbH with the planning and construction supervision of the 750 m long Nato long-distance product pipeline section.
In addition to the earthworks with dewatering in the area of the new pipe trench and the tie-in pits, the Fritz Spieth engineering office planned the pipe-laying work with connection to the existing pipeline, crossing in the area of a road, integration of the pipeline into the KKS system, and draining and cleaning of the pipeline section to be decommissioned.
The construction work has been ongoing since February 2019 and is expected to end in May 2019.
