Development of the Vöhringen environmental and energy park
The municipalities of Sulz am Neckar and Vöhringen have decided to designate an inter-municipal industrial estate. One section (Section B) was planned and realised by Ingenieurbüro Fritz Spieth.
Section B is to be given the character of a campus, which is why the central access road was planned in such a way that open spaces are created and user interaction can be achieved.
Motorised traffic, especially heavy goods traffic, is to be kept out of the central campus via a bypass (approx. 8,000 m2). The quality of the bypass road was designed for a correspondingly high volume of heavy goods traffic.
The site is several metres lower than the other sections of the business park. It was therefore filled with approx. 180,000 m3 of qualified soil material prior to development in order to create a multifunctional building site for the subsequent building construction. The soil material used originates from regional construction projects, which was processed (crushed) at the installation site and installed as a substructure for the transport facilities and the subsequent commercial buildings.
In addition to the commercial areas, large areas in the south and on the eastern and western edges are designated as equalisation and retention areas.
